MobilePAL software enables inspectors and other remote staff to access information on schedule, permit, contact and property using mobile devices. Security features ensure that each user accesses their assigned activities and that any information collected, including inspection results, is updated to the main database. MobilePAL can synchronize with that database via a wired connection or through wireless service. In areas without wireless service, staff can work in an offline mode.
MobilePAL allows field staff such as building or fire inspectors, public works crew managers, auditors, and environmental health or enforcement agents, to manage their workload by viewing and updating information as they go, on laptops, tablets, PDAs and Smartphones. MobilePAL's GPS add-on allows inspectors to use the Global Positioning System to determine optimal routes for accessing inspections. Unscheduled inspections, such as code enforcement violations, can also be logged in the field.
Accurate information at all times - MobilePAL helps staff enter correct information by presenting options from a valid list. Data entry is done quickly with minimal keyboard or touchpad input. The entire system can be user-defined by each jurisdiction.
Field staff can quickly enter comments, mileage, expenses and time taken to complete a process through simple. Checklists are completed with point-and-touch selection of pre-loaded comments. One or multiple deficiencies can be recorded; each deficiency cites the section and text of the applicable code/bylaw/ordinance. Re-inspection dates are scheduled depending on the severity of the infraction and time needed to remedy it.
Accessory Options - MobilePAL can receive data from many devices, including:
| · Digital cameras and videophones |
· Sensors including food thermometers |
· Touchpads for signature capture |
| · Microphones for audio files |
· Barcode and document scanners |
. Global Positioning System (GPS) |
Reports and Public Access - When the on-site review is complete, a comprehensive report can be printed for the client on a portable printer, with many types of reports available through MobilePAL. Once data is synchronized with AMANDA, results and reports can then be published to the web. For example, results from restaurant inspections can instantly be uploaded to a website showing pass/fail results.
