First phase of project enables citizens to pay some bylaw infraction tickets online using credit and debit cards

Maple Ridge, BC – CSDC Systems Inc., and the District of Maple Ridge have launched a new ‘Tickets Online’ service. The new online service, which went live on Nov 12, 2010, was built using CSDC Systems’ AMANDA Public Portal software. The system will make it possible for Maple Ridge’s citizens to pay some bylaw infraction tickets online using VISA, MasterCard or their Interac card.

By going to the District of Maple Ridge website homepage at www.mapleridge.ca, citizens can click on the ‘online services’ link and get to the ‘Tickets Online’ page. The user will be prompted to enter the 6-Digit ticket number and they will quickly move through the process to pay for the ticket online.

Maple Ridge has a very mobile population with a large percentage of the workforce commuting outside the community each day for their employment. The online payment system will allow citizens with parking tickets and other minor bylaw infractions to pay without the inconvenience of a face-to-face visit to District Hall.

This is Phase One of the three part plan by the District of Maple Ridge where the AMANDA Public Portal software will be used to offer enhanced online services for citizens. The next phase of the roll out will allow businesses to renew their business licenses online. In Phase Three, the program will be expanded to include the ability for builders, building contractors and homeowners to apply for and renew routine building permits online.

The ‘Tickets Online’ service is an extension of the District of Maple Ridge’s implementation program for AMANDA which was originally launched in 2001.
