AMANDA, also known as IBMS within the City, is also used for managing and issuing Building Permits in the City. Since the IBMS (AMANDA) system already has all property and permit information, this makes it easy for building inspectors to target and conduct inspections, identify code specific violations, and track down landlords for addressing the violations. City of Winnipeg’s Community By-Law Enforcement Services has been using AMANDA for Housing Standards inspections since 2004, to conduct similar inspections based on property standards and health/sanitary conditions. Toronto, ON - 2009 was a busy year for building inspectors in the City of Toronto’s Municipal Licensing and Standards Division. As a result of an effort to crack down on buildings that let maintenance slide, inspectors logged nearly 10,000 violations in AMANDA covering approximately 200 buildings. Click
