Arlington, TX - CSDC is pleased to announce that the City of Arlington (population: 365,000)  has deployed the AMANDA Business Licensing and AMANDA RFS product modules for their Fire Department. The modules, part of the browser-based, AMANDA 5 software suite, are being used to manage commercial property inspections, fire hazard inventories, emergency contact information storage and citizen fire safety complaints.

Arlington has been a CSDC customer since 2006, with AMANDA already deployed in the Building, Planning and Community Services departments. When selecting a new inspections solution, the Fire Department’s major drivers were a need for greater in-field capabilities over their previous mainframe legacy application, a reduction of data input and a reduction in their paper use. Additionally, the Fire Department wanted a solution that would efficiently help them meet their inspection standards.

With AMANDA 5, the Department’s inspectors can now log inspection details using their laptops, connected to their office through a secure wireless connection. Inspectors can also capture signatures and take photographs, which AMANDA seamlessly merges into documents for later reports, notifications and correspondence.

Using AMANDA RFS will allow the City of Arlington’s Fire Department to capture call details directly in AMANDA to enable efficient management of citizen complaints about fire safety. After being logged in AMANDA, complaints are automatically routed for inspections, helping the Arlington Fire Department improve citizen service.
