Keeping the design of your Folder Types up-to-date is an important part of maintaining your AMANDA installation. There are some quick and easy tips that can simplify the process for AMANDA Administrators. Here’s one:
Automate - AMANDA can be configured to notify Administrators if a Folder Type’s design no longer matches the business need. We can, for example, configure the AMANDA Batch Scheduler to notify Administrators if there exists an Info Field that is no longer being populated, if there exists a Process that is no longer regularly being closed or if there exists a Folder Status that is no longer being used. These automated checks can alert an Administrator to a possible design gap.
